About the 2016 EGUMPP Grammar Bowl
The 2016 War of the Roses EGUMPP Grammar Bowl is a unique opportunity for 9th grade students in the Pennsylvania counties of Lancaster and
York to participate in an academic competition focusing on grammar concepts and terminology. Participants will be competing for super prizes
including scholarships, gift cards, tablet computers, and a family trip for four to Disney World in Florida.
The 2016 War of the Roses EGUMPP Grammar Bowl consists of three stages of competition – the Preliminaries, the Semifinals, and the Finals.
In the Preliminaries, registered participants must complete the EGUMPP Grammar Module (20 lessons and a mastery test).
All participants who complete the EGUMPP Grammar Module with a minimum final grade of 91% will be eligible to compete in the Semifinals.
Semifinalist take a written test to determine which participants will be eligible to compete in the Finals (a live event).
How The Competition Works
1) Register Online
Eligible 9th grade students can enter the competition by completing the online registration form
. After your eligibility is verified,
you will be sent (via email) instructions on how to get started and a FREE EGUMPP Grammar Module license key.
The registration deadline is
March 14, 2016
March 31, 2016.
2) Complete the EGUMPP Grammar Module
After a participant receives his/her FREE EGUMPP Grammar Module license key, the participant must complete the
EGUMPP Grammar Module
. All Participants with a minimum final grade of 91% on
the Grammar Module will be eligible to compete in the Semifinals.
The deadline to complete the EGUMPP Grammar Module is
April 9, 2016
April 23, 2016.
3) Compete in the Semifinals
Participants who score a minimum final grade of 91% on the EGUMPP Grammar Module are eligible to compete in the Semifinals.
Participants take a written test at a Lancaster testing site or a York testing site. The top 32 scorers at each testing site advance to the Finals.
The Semifinals take place on Saturday,

4) Compete in the Finals
The 64 Finalists (32 Lancaster Finalists and 32 York Finalists) compete on stage in a live head-to-head elimination event. The Finals consists of five elimination rounds and the championship round. The further a participant advances, the more prizes the participant wins.
