The EGUMPP Grammar Module consists of 20 lessons and a five-part Mastery Test. Most individuals complete this module in 15 to 20 hours. This means that if you devote one hour per day to working in this module, you can complete this module in 2 to 3 weeks.
To qualify for the Semifinals, you must achieve a minimum final grade of 91% in the EGUMPP Grammar Module
by 11:59 p.m. EDT on
April 9, 2016 April 23, 2016.
All participants who complete the EGUMPP Grammar Module by
April 9, 2016 April 23, 2016 with a minimum final grade of 91% will qualify for the Semifinals.
If you qualify for the Semifinals, you will receive an official notification by email no later than April 25, 2016, with instructions on
how to proceed.
Your final grade is a combination of your 20 lesson grades and your mastery test grade. Your 20 lesson grades are averaged together and account for 50% of your final grade, and your mastery test grade accounts for the other 50% of your final grade.
Before you begin the mastery test, you may retake any lesson test as many times as you wish to improve your lesson grade. Once you begin the mastery test, you can no longer improve a lesson grade. Therefore, we recommend that your average lesson grade is at least 91% before you begin the mastery test. Each of the five parts of the mastery may be attempted only three times.
The best way to prepare for the Semifinals is to devote an adequate amount of time to each lesson of the EGUMPP Grammar Module until you thoroughly understand all of the concepts and terms presented in a lesson. For each lesson, we recommend the following:
1) Watch the lesson videos as many times as necessary until you completely understand the information presented.
2) Repeat the Lesson Reinforcers until you can consistently score 15 correct responses in a row.
3) Continue practicing the Practice to Mastery (PTM) graded tests until you consistently score 91% or higher with each attempt.
4) Practice identifying the terms and completing the writing tasks found in the Terms and Tasks Flash cards section until you have mastered all of the terms and are confident that you can accomplish all of the writing tasks.
Note: There will be semifinal practice test available to download after March 5, 2016.
